Fall is a wonderful time in Minnesota. The crisp air, rich and vibrant colors, and of course you have to do a visit to one of the many apple orchards Minnesota boasts. Check out these apple orchards that you can enjoy during the fall season around the St. Croix Valley. 

1. Aamodt's Apple Farm

Located in Stillwater off of Manning Avenue, this picturesque apple farm is open 7 days a week from 10-6pm. Pick your own apples, have the kids ride the "Honeycrisp Express", take a wagon ride, walk through the apple barn and bakery, explore the property with a treasure map, pet the goats at the goat farm, or head next door to taste some wine at Saint Croix Vineyards. 

2. Afton Apple Orchard

On over 200 acres in Hastings, enjoy over 13 different varieties of apples, pick your own raspberries, or try out their 15-acre corn maze. Every weekend until October 15th you can participate in the "Apple Festival". The Afton Apple Festival has face painting, bluegrass music, hayrides, petting farm, cider pressing demonstrations, Cow Train rides and more. Afton Apple Orchard is open 10am-6pm, every day. 

3. Pine Tree Apple Orchard

Enjoy a scenic wagon ride through the orchard, have the kids ride on a pony, try out the corn maze, or enjoy live music. With over 15 varieties of apples to choose from, this White Bear Lake Apple Orchard is the perfect place to spend the day. If you are looking for a fall run, join them on October 21st for a beautiful 5-mile course through the orchard and pumpkin patch and strawberry fields. The main area of the orchard is open 9-6pm, 7 days a week. Activity hours vary. 

4. Pleasant Valley

Take a scenic drive up the St. Croix River Valley to Pleasant Valley Orchard, located just south of Taylor's Falls in Shafer, MN. Fall activities include picking your own apples, hayrides, brat feed,  live music, nature trails, corn box and farm animals. Don't forget to try one of their famous caramel apples, scones or apple turnovers. Pleasant Valley is open 10 am -6 pm, daily. 

5. Applecrest Farms

Can't make it out to an orchard this fall, but still want some crips, delicious Minnesota apples? Then check out Applcrest Farms, a Minnesota orchard that does online orders so you can get fresh apples directly from their farm to your doorstep. Founded in 1983 and having over 1,200 trees, Applcrest Farms works closely with the University of Minnesota to help create the best tasting Minnesota apples. Choose from Haralson, Honeygold, Honeycrisp and Regent varieties. A great gift idea, especially for those who aren't lucky enough to enjoy the Minnesota fall.
